NOISE FROM WIND TURBINE CONSTRUCTION IS KILLING OCEAN MAMMALS


Wind turbine construction noise is killing ocean mammals such as porpoises, dolphins and whales, by damaging their hearing.  Without proper hearing abilities they can't hunt or conduct other life-sustaining activities. Up to 200 decibels have been registered during construction.
 
There are ways to create a bubble curtain around the worksite, so as to prevent noise propagation, but this technology is rendered useless by strong currents.
