INVASIVE CRAZY ANTS DISPLACING FIRE ANTS

And they are a lot worse, if you can imagine that

Not good news. Folks who live in fire ant areas want them back. Fire ants are very polite, they say. Fire ants live in mounds in the yard and stay there, and they only react if someone steps on their mound.

TAWNY CRAZY ANTS, however, settle everywhere, including people's homes, nesting in crawl spaces and walls, and damaging electrical equipment.

Crazy ants don't have natural predators in the United States, so they are reproducing like crazy. It doesn't help that they are too smart to consume ant poison, and confuse people by not having precise boundaries, so the supercolony may survive and re-invade.

Their only redeeming quality is that they don't sting as fire ants do.
