ISRAEL - THE RUSH TO JUDGMENT - A 16-year-old Arab boy is found murdered - Arabs riot and the world assume the Jews are to blame

When three Jewish teens were kidnapped recently, foreign government officials and international organizations refrained from blaming the Arabs. They wanted more evidence. But when the victim is an Arab there is instant unanimity: The Jews did it. And we're still waiting for the US government to call on the Arabs for "restraint".

In the aftermath of the grim finding of the remains of three Jewish kidnapped teenage boys and the release of a recording one of them made to police, there was no doubt about what happened and that Arabs were the perpetrators. The government has even pinpointed suspicions on one particular Arab who is on the run.

Then the body of an Arab adolescent was found. Arabs were quick to announce he had been kidnapped by Jews and murdered as an act of revenge.

But even before this latest killing Arabs were setting the outskirts of Jerusalem on fire.

At this time there are all-out riots in parts of Israel.

Who was the Arab teen found murdered?

His name was Mohammed Abu Khder. He was sixteen years old and lived in the eastern part of Jerusalem.

The pictures show a boy that looks frail and younger than his years.

Israel National News (Arutz Sheva) reports: A senior former police official argues that the abduction and murder of the Arab youth who was found dead Wednesday morning was most likely a criminal act, rejecting the claim that Jewish "revenge" for the murdered Israeli teens lay behind it.

The official noted that the family of the murdered 16-year-old was well known to police sources in Jerusalem, adding "it's a problematic family with internal clashes that have been ongoing for many years."

"I have no doubt that as time passes it will be clarified that the murder was criminal and nothing more," declared the official, who spoke to Arutz Sheva on condition of anonymity.

Plenty of motives

Some reporters suggested that the youth may have been killed for impugning family honor, reportedly due to sexual preferences, or over intra-family rivalries.

A reporter for Channel 2 News said police told him that, two days earlier, Abu Khudair’s parents alerted police that unknown men had tried to abduct a younger, nine-year-old brother.

While the mother claimed to officers that Jews tried to kidnap the child, the father came up to them and corrected her, asserting that Arab men were the abductors. He told police that he would come in to give testimony, but police said he never showed up.

Was this an "honor killing"?

Algemeiner - Indeed, several times in the past when Arabs have accused Israel or “settlers” of killing Arabs, it has turned out that Arabs themselves committed the deed, either for “family reasons” or “criminal reasons” such as a turf war between rival businesses or drug dealers.

During the 1987-89 “Intifada” (the first Palestinian war of attrition against Israel), hundreds of Palestinians were killed by other Palestinians under the cover of charges that they were collaborators with Israel, when actually, they were killed for personal or business reasons.

It would not be a surprise to discover that Muhammad Abu Khudair, the 16-year-old Arab found dead near Jerusalem was murdered by Arabs, perhaps because his own family was ashamed by his sexual proclivities (such as homosexuality) or that a rival family was taking revenge against Muhammad’s family for other reasons.

A culture of shame

In Arab culture of shame children who suffer from mental illness or disability, or those who in their view have dishonored the family, can be sacrificed.

Here are two instances of families who decided to, or were coerced into, sacrificing their children in order to create a martyr and to blame the Jews.

1. Sending a mentally ill family member to get shot

In 2010 a mentally ill Arab man was sent by his family to infiltrate a Jewish community in the hope that police would kill him. They would get rid of him and gain a martyr. The Palestinian authority pays generous salaries to martyrs' families.

He was not shot. Police talked to him and he told them about his family's plans. When police went to talk to his family, they fled.

2. Sending a mentally handicapped child to blow himself up

Then there was the time in 2004 when they strapped a suicide vest to a 14 year old mentally handicapped boy and sent him to blow himself up at a checkpoint. It was all captured on video.

The Guardian - The Israeli army said yesterday that Hassam Mohammed Hufni Abdo, a 14-year-old Palestinian boy who tried to kill soldiers at a West Bank checkpoint with a belt of explosives strapped to his body, would have been the youngest Palestinian suicide bomber. The boy, from the West Bank town of Nablus, apparently panicked when soldiers challenged him and he raised his hands in surrender.
